Total Productive Maintenance
In a Just-in-Time environment, machine failure can be catastrophic. The TPM
concept is designed to eliminate all causes of machine downtime and product
variability resulting from poor machine performance. However, Optim has
seen most TPM initiatives fail through unnecessary complexity. Optim's
approach cuts through the confusion in its Value Adding Machines program,
which follows a simple step-by-step approach involving operators, fitters
and their leaders in a direct and concerted attack on machine waste.
Process Standardisation
Our unique Work Centre Improvement process helps employees get the best
from process equipment. They identify the critical-to-quality outputs as
defined by the customers. They use root cause analysis to determine the
inputs and skills required to achieve them. They produce their own work
instructions, decision rules and monitoring procedures to ensure those
critical-to-quality outputs are maintained, irrespective of who is running
the line.

Automation

Optim has had experience in Europe, North America and
Australia/New Zealand in the application of computer based simulation
techniques to optimise manufacturing and service industry processes.
Simulation allows low cost trials to be carried out before full
implementation takes place.

prepare capital justifications with projected paybacks etc.
