Ray Clark
(Director)
Bachelor Science (Metallurgy Chemistry), Bachelor Science (Hons) (Metallurgy), Master Science (Metallurgy), Certificate IV Workplace Training, Certificate IV and Diploma of Competitive Manufacturing
After completing his MSC at Melbourne University in 1973, Ray started his career with BHP at their Melbourne Research Laboratories. He started as a Research Officer involved in research and development in the sheet steel section and also carried out projects on a consulting basis to outside companies.
In 1978 he became Senior Operations Auditor throughout BHP and subsidiaries, a consulting position examining and recommending improvements to systems. In 1983 he became Project Leader implementing Lysaght's fully integrated production control system and in 1985 he trained in TQC to train the BHP Coated Products production control department in all aspects of TQC.
Ray became Production Control Superintendent, BHP Coated Products,
Westernport in 1986.
In 1987 Ray joined the Technology Transfer Council (TTC) as a consultant.
He was involved in working with a large and diverse group of companies
assisting with the implementation of Productivity and Quality Improvement
programs, Value Adding Management (VAM) and Teambuilding programs.
In 1993 Ray was the joint founder of Optim Pty. Ltd., a customer focused
consulting group, offering a wide range of services to businesses.
In 2004 Ray was involved with writing the first user guides for the Competitive Manufacturing Package. Later in 2006 he supplied the input for the Competitive Manufacturing e-tool box.
In 2006 Ray formed Breakthrough Performance Consulting as a Registered Training Organisation to enhance the lean transformation process through the use of accredited training courses.
Ray has developed all of Breakthrough Performances unique training and assessment materials. During the past 4 years Breakthrough Performance has had a close alliance with Swinburne University and Ray has been involved with the development of their Certificate IV and diploma of Competitive Manufacturing material and training their people.
